Ark Housing is thrilled to announce that we have received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for our new project, the Ark Creative Network! This exciting initiative builds on the success of our previous Ark Creative Communities programme, which brought freelance creatives and community arts groups into Ark centres for families experiencing homelessness.
The Ark Creative Communities programme was a resounding success. We were able to forge connections with a diverse range of creative groups, including Drama Time, Glengormley School of Traditional Music, Beyond Skin, and the incredible local pop band Vokxen. These partnerships introduced residents to a wealth of new experiences, from music and dance to flower arranging, jewellery making, and creative writing.
Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund award, the Ark Creative Network will now be able to extend these enriching activities to all Ark Housing properties. This includes our independent living schemes, general needs developments, and centres for families experiencing homelessness.
The Ark Creative Network offers a wonderful opportunity for tenants to engage with the creative community in a fun and colourful way. It's also a chance for them to learn about the full range of Ark services available.
At Ark Housing, we are committed to tenant participation. We believe that our tenants should have a say in shaping the services we offer. Therefore, we are excited to give them the opportunity to recommend creative agencies they'd like to see involved in the programme.
We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery Awards for All for this vital funding. This award will play a key role in enabling tenants to connect with creative partners, learn new skills, and expand their social networks. Ultimately, the Ark Creative Network will bring people together in fun and creative environments, helping Ark Housing build strong and thriving communities.
