Ark Housing recently hosted the Tenants' Forum Annual Dinner at the newly opened Black Mountain Shared Space, a cross-community venue offering a diverse range of activities for residents.
We were delighted to welcome a large and diverse group of tenants from across Northern Ireland, including Belfast, Carrickfergus, Portaferry, and Coleraine. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity to celebrate past achievements, discuss future priorities, and emphasize the importance of tenant involvement in shaping Ark Housing services.
The afternoon featured presentations from members of the Tenants' Forum, highlighting their contributions to key policies and initiatives. Guests were encouraged to join the Forum and actively participate in shaping the service delivery of Ark Housing.
Laura O'Dowd, Ark’s Director of Housing and Customer Services, welcomed all the attendees and emphasized the crucial role of tenant input in service delivery. Kelly Foster, Community Investment Manager, highlighted past successes of the Tenants' Forum and encouraged more tenants to get involved with the Tenants Forum and participate in the shaping of our services.
To gather valuable feedback, facilitated table discussions were held, focusing on motivations for tenant engagement, potential barriers to participation, and opportunities to enhance communication and service delivery. There was lively discussions around the room and we’re grateful to all tenants who shared their perspectives and provided valuable insights.
The afternoon concluded with a delightful performance by talented young musicians and dancers from St. Genevieves, a long-standing partner of Ark Housing.
